How it started

So I decided to write a blog for those of you that are interested in more of DAVIDRENEE photography. So here goes.
My name is Renee and my husband is David; (if you didn't know davidrenee were two people) adding our 4 month old daughter Cadence makes three of us. David, born and raised in Auckland New Zealand, brings a classy/excellent approach to taking pictures. He raises the bar both in me and himself at deciding what is a good picture and what is not. We have both been photographing for about 6 years. Davids journey began in the South Island of New Zealand hanging out of a helicopter photographing land for a Real Estate  company. Which then progressed to shooting multi-million dollar homes and then the fun and daring snowboard photography. He has photographed 2006 gold medalist and 2008 bronze medalist Kelly Clark, as well as travelled to South Korea to shoot a snowboard company called Signal Snowboards based out of Mammoth, California.

My journey however isn't quite the same and exciting.  2003 beginning in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan I discovered digital cameras and photoshop. It quickly became my new hobby and release of creativity. I had the eye but lacked the technique and relied on photoshop for my pictures to look good. But I definitely thought I was the best around. More and more photographers started blooming and my work didn't seem as appealing anymore. In attempt to save some money to move to California I sold my rebel XT and laid aside my hopes of becoming  great.

I moved to Redding California in 2007 and thats where I met my hubby. Found out he was a photographer and decided to show him my photo blog expecting him to tell me my pictures looked good. Dismayed he went through them all and told me he liked one! One! That was it! I had a tough critic on my hands, I was horrified but drawn to this unusual man with the lime green hat and funny accent.

We went on out first photo shoot and David showed me a world of technique and beauty I had never seen. It became fun and easy; and true love began to bloom. Since then we have gone on photo journalism trips and photographed many friends and occasions.

Summer 2009 I decided I wanted to do Wedding Photography and wouldn't let fear keep me from doing so. Now DAVIDRENEE photography is becoming a steadily growing business that we are constantly trying to improve and become excellent at what we do.

May12, 2010 and 4:20 PM our newest addition arrived, Cadence Nevaeh. She has become a source of joy and blessing, and of course thee best photo subject in the world.
